Girly Graduation Cards - Retired Wednesday!

It is not too early to be thinking about those Graduation ceremonies that will be taking place in the next couple of months.  Our local high school graduation takes place the early part of May!  I know I will have a few graduation announcements that I will receive so I decided to make a couple of girly cards.

I used the retired DSP paper that I got on clearance rack for CHEAP (love that) called love letter.  Notice also, I used that doily sizzlit again.

So cute and I know the girls love the cream, red and black colors. I also pleated the DSP paper along the bottom - I don't know if you can see it very well.

I finished the card off real simple inside.

Stamps: Circle Sayings (retired)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Love Letter DSP, Basic Black, Red Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Black bakers twine, Fun Flowers Die, Perfect polka dot EF, Large delicate doily sizzlit, 1" punch, 1 1/4" punch

See you next time -

Happy Birthday!

I have been busy making some birthday cards for some people that have April birthday's.  I still had the SU! nursery print DSP laying around so I made this card using odds and ends that I had on my craft table.

I purchased the large delicate doily for the Big Shot some time ago.  I tried it ONCE and the doilies would not cut correctly.  I had given up on the die until I happened to come across a You Tube video showing that you needed and extra shim for the die and viola! I tried it and it worked like a charm!  Now it is my favorite thing at the moment!

I had to use some crystal effects on the cupcake for that glossy, frosting look.

Stamps: Create a Cupcake, Happy Birthday (non stampin up)
Paper: Scraps I had on my craft table & that DSP paper I cannot remember the name of!
Accessories: Rhinestones, Large delicate doily die, cupcake punch, crystal effects

Til next time...

Retired Wednesday!!

I was so busy last week that I never got anything posted but this week I was able to get a few cards made.

I actually got the idea for this card from this blog and post.  It looked so simple and sweet that I decided to use some old SU! baby paper (I cannot find the name of it!!!) I liked how this came together so well that I made three of them, one a congratulations, one a thinking of you and one a thank you card.  Pear Pizzaz looked perfect for the base color along with whisper white. I am so happy that Stampin Up! is re-introducing Pear Pizzaz as a color.  I love that color so much!

I continued the scallops on the inside of the cards as well.

Stamps: Curly Cute
Cardstock: Pear Pizzaz, SU! DSP nursey print, Whisper White
Ribbon: Pear Pizzaz Stitched Poly Ribbon
Accessories: SU! Scallop border punch, Tasteful Trim Bigz Die

Hope you have a great day!

Thinking Of You and an Oops!

Hello!

I needed a card for my sister-in-law who recently had knee surgery and CASED this card from one I saw on Pinterest.  Had it all ready to go....and spilled water on it!  The Thinking of You, Friend sentiments started to run and warp and was a mess! I thought the whole card was ruined but I managed to save the rest of the card and just re-stamped the sentiment.  Has that ever happened to you?

Stamps: Just Thinking
Ink: Midnight Muse
Cardstock: Sunshine & Sprinkles, Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight
Ribbon: Melon Mambo scalloped dots
Accessories: Rhinestone, Square Lattice EF, Window Frame Framelits, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.

Thanks for dropping by!

A Simple Thanks

Today is a short post because this week has been so busy!  A lot of "stuff" going on in my life other than blogging and there isn't enough hours in the day to get everything done.

I made a couple of VERY simple thank you cards to have on hand using some retired colored cardstock and a sale-a-bration stamp.

I used the brand new Bitty Butterfly punch and a pretty rhinestone in the middle of the butterfly.  The cardstock and ink don't quite match in this picture but in "real life" they match perfectly.

I hope you have a great weekend.  Mine always seems to fill up so fast.  I don't have to work Saturday this week but I have an appointment bright and early at 8:00 a.m. and it is 30 miles away so I will be up early and on the road.

Take care - Gail S.

Retired Wednesday! Two Cards - One Design

I am back today with retired Wednesday and using once again the DSP Everyday Enchantment. This design is very simple but works well on both of these cards and I love this paper.

I used the sentiment Wish Big from the set Word Play from SU! It is a large set and a lot of great sentiments.  My second card I used th pretty sentiment from the Vintage Verses set that was a Sale-a-bration set.

On this card I added a designer builder brad - so pretty!  Thanks for stopping by today.

Happiness is a jar full of jellybeans!

Hello!

I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday for Easter.  It started out a beautiful sunny day here in Nebraska and by afternoon...it turned cloudy, cool with sprinkles.  Oh well, it is still March!  I did get my car washed though and it really needed it.  This card that I made is a CASE from THIS post by Dawn Tidd.

This uses the Perfectly Preserved jar and framelits and the jellybeans come from the Spring Sampler set from the Spring SU! Catalog.  I added crystal effects on the jellybeans to make them shiny just like the real jellybeans.  The DSP paper is Sunshine & Sprinkles also in the Spring Catty.  The cardstock is Lucky Limeade.  The inside photo is a little blurry but hope you can get the idea.

Yikes!  I must have moved when I snapped this picture!

Have a good day everyone.  I have to head out and feed a bucket calf that we have (we only have one bucket calf so far this year). As I am typing this, I can hear him moooooing outside! We have quite a few calves here at the farm and still many more to go.
