Quint Essential Flower Power

This past weekend, I was able to get into the craft room and make some cards!  It has been forever (well, at least a month) since I have been able to have some time to play.  I ended up making quite a few cards using the Quint Essential Flower stamp from SU!.  This stamp is sold by itself and comes as a wooden block stamp as your only choice.  It has so many possibilities!  I will be showing several cards using this versitile stamp over the course of several posts.

This first card I really like the pretty colors. I got this idea from the blog here ~ Stampin Anne.  I really like Anne Marie's style of cardmaking and have CASED many of her card ideas.

I used some of the new Stampin' Up! colors along with grey.  The new colors are Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals.

I added some rhinestones to the flower and punched out different parts of the stamped flower in the two colors.  I also added some tags to the card and attached them to the bow.

Stay tuned for more ideas using the Quint Essential Flower Stamp!!

Sweet Macyn!

Well this proud Grandma has to post some more pictures of Macyn!  She is growing "like a weed"!

I could not stay away any longer so grandma (and grandpapa) had to go visit last week and we got to babysit last Saturday afternoon and gave Mommy and Daddy a break.  They went out to eat and to a movie while Macyn and us bonded.  We watched the Olympics together!  Macyn is now 5 weeks old.

I saw a quote on Pinterest the other day ~ "Grandchildren fill a space in your heart you never knew was empty".  My heart is so full of love!

Our Wedding Anniversary

Today my husband and I got married 33 years ago!  Wow - time really does fly by.  The day we got married was a warm one but not nearly as hot and dry as it has been this year in Nebraska.

This is a picture of us on that day.  Not the most clear picture but you can see how young we were!

Three kids raised and grown and one grandbaby and we are still together.  Sometimes there have been hills to climb and valleys to relax and we have made it through them together.

Last night we went out to eat with another couple and had a wonderful time!  We had prime ribs with all the fixings and shared a piece of coconut cream pie for dessert - YUM!

Macyn

This is a photo of Macyn that a friend of my daughter's took when Macyn was only 4 days old. To see more of Tami's photography go here (facebook) or her website here.  She does an amazing job.  More pictures to come!

It's A Girl!!!

I am sorry I haven't been posting but I have been playing Grandma!!!  My daughter had a baby girl on July 2nd.  They named her Macyn (pronounced Mason) Lane.  She is beautiful with a head full on dark hair.

I got to travel out to Colorado and spend some time with them, helping out with cooking and cleaning.

I will post pictures this weekend of little Macyn as well as a card I have made.

Til then...

Happy 4th of July!!

Happy 4th of July to everyone!!

Do you have plans for the 4th?  Lots of picnics, celebrations, b-b-ques, watermelon and f-u-n!!   Love the 4th!

We really need rain here in Central Nebraska so I hope there are no fires due to fireworks starting dry grass on fire!  We have not had a drop of rain since May!

Here is a card I made for a fellow cardmaker Connie:

I used a Close To My Heart stamp set and cardstock scraps that I need to get rid of.  I keep buying new goodies and end up not using the old things I already have!!  Does that happen to you? Inside I decorated it:

Have a fabulous 4th and see you soon!
