Forty nine years ago today, my Mom and Dad got married in Pasadena, California. They had 4 children and are now retired and living here in Nebraska. I wanted to do something special for the two of them this year so I hosted a wonderful anniversary dinner for them at my home this past Sunday. We had beef tenderloin, baked potatoes, fresh corn, dinner rolls and for dessert a beautiful cake I purchased.
I made this card from a CASE I got off of pinterest. It was originally made by Chat at Me, My stamps and I. She makes wonderful cards!!
I changed out the sentiment but other than that I copied everything!
It was a good day spending it celebrating 59 years of marriage with my mom and dad. We brought out their wedding album and enjoyed looking at the photos. My husband and I have been married 34 years (35 in July). Time goes by fast!

A Different kind of Sympathy Card
When a member of your family passes away it is a very sad time in your life. Even when it is a pet. We have had several pets here on the Slagle farm and whenever we lose one it is heartbreaking. A neighbor's family dog passed away recently and I wanted to send them a note to let them know I care.
I made the paw using the SU! heart and oval punches. The inside was very simple. The sentiment of the front and inside is from the SU! So Sorry stamp set.
I took these photos before I discovered PicMonkey.
I have been busy making Valentine treats for friends and relatives. I will share them soon!
Also, I have really exciting news! I entered radio contest and WON!!!! I won 2 tickets (with a meet and greet) to The Band Perry and Easton Corbin and a nights stay at a hotel next to the concert arena! So excited - this is the biggest thing I have ever won! I will have pictures to share after I go!

Yay! For PicMonkey!
I belong to a wonderful group of SU! ladies/gentlemen called Luv2Stamp and it is led by the wonderful Patty Bennett. Patty is always keeping us up to date about important things and is always teaching us something new. I have learned so much from this group. One thing I recently learned was PicMonkey. It is a photo editing site that has FREE things for you to use to help with your blogs/business. Wow!! It is so easy to use and me being not too computer savvy, this is sooooo easy!!
This card that I made recently, I took a picture of it and put my watermark on it using PicMonkey!
Can you hear me singing with joy???? I am so happy that I don't have to stick my name stamp in front of the picture and it looks so professional!
This card is using retired colors but one can adjust it to use the newer in colors. I love how it turned out and I am thrilled with my new editing toy! I cacan't wait to play more with PicMonkey....when I have time....

A Winter Birthday
I guess I am on a roll for making birthday cards! I actually started by making my daughter-in-law a birthday card. Her birthday was Sunday and then I didn't even take a photo of her card so I can't post it on here! Oh well, I ended up making several more birthday cards that day (see the previous posts) and also came up with the wintery birthday card.
I love this stamp set & punch from SU! that feature the mittens.
I think they are so cute!! Sad to say, they have retired but I still enjoy using them.
Thanks for popping in today - I hope your week is going well.

A Wild Birthday card!
I found a cute card layout on Pinterest and decided to use it for a card. I really do like the layout but the cardstock I used, I think is a little wild for my tastes!
It is bright and cheery - perfect for a birthday!
What do you think? Please, let me know!
I had the day off work yesterday (Martin Luther King Day) and spent it running around. When I have a day off, I try to schedule lots of appointments that I can't otherwise get to. I went to one town 25 miles away from where I live, came home for a few minutes and then went to another town about 40 minutes away from us in the opposite direction! Whew! I was tired when I got home. My next day off of work is Presidents Day in February....I plan on going to Colorado to see my granddaughter (weather permitting!!)

Another Challenge Card!
Well Peeps, yesterday in Nebraska was bee-u-tee-full but today it is windy and chilly. I have been able to get into my craft room and make some more cards (happy dance) and today I have one to share the I am linking up to another challenge. Techno stamper blog found HERE has a Monday Lunchtime sketch challenge #298. This is the challenge sketch:
And this is what I came up for this challenge:
I had the cardstock Baja Breeze out from another card that I made so I started with that. I also still have some retired DSP paper that I love and it fit perfect for this card. When you purchase SU! DSP packs....they last forever! You can make so many projects just from one package.
I have a small tip for you also! When card making, don't throw away scraps. The white cardstock behind the solid Baja breeze cardstock is a scrap!
This is what I used! I had used this paper for two other projects.
I added a small pearl to the center of the flower and popped it up on dimensionals.
I hope this inspires you to try this sketch out and make a card today!
Thanks for stopping by today.

Masculine Happy Birthday
I wanted to make some cards to have on hand so when occasions came along, I wasn't scrambling to get a card made. I made some masculine cards to have on hand for birthdays and came up with this.
I used some retired paper scraps and got several made to have on hand. I love how they turned out.

Thank You Cards
I wanted to send out a few Thank You cards and got this simple idea for a layout on the computer. They were easy enough to whip out several in no time at all.
I used the Festive Flurry paper pack for the cardstock on the banners and Coastal Cabana for the background.

A New Year!
Wow! A new year - 2014! Last year flew by. Most of the year was a good one for the Slagle's but there were some sad times. I hate to admit but December was sooooo busy at home and work, I didn't even get Christmas cards sent. I just sent to the people that I received one from. Hopefully this year I will be more on top of things.
I have been crafting....when I can get a few minutes to spare and I do have some cards to share with you!
Today is a bitterly, cold day here in Nebraska and we have an anniversary that we need to get out and go to! Yikes, I would like to just stay home and hibernate but oh well. I made a simple, yet pretty card for the occasion.
I always seem to lean toward red, black and white for anniversary cards lately! This time though, I used basic gray for the card and added just a tiny pearl for an accent on the little heart.
The inside was simple with a couple of more little hearts and an anniversary sentiment. I took a picture of it but it was too blurry to share. I do have a picture of my Granddaughter to share that was taken at Christmas. Love this little girl!!
She loves bubbles and we were blowing them and having a great time!
