Vintage Vogue in Purple

I saw this fold for a card quite a while ago on Mary Fish's blog and thought is was unique and wanted to make a couple of cards with it and this is what I came up with.

This card cuts measures 9" x 4 1/4" and is folded at 3 3/4" so when folded it fits into a regular A2 envelope.  I had to use a giant clothespin to keep it closed because it kept trying to spring open so that is the pink you see at the bottom of the above picture.

I love the eggplant purple and the gumball green colors together.

I also love the stamp set from SU! called Vintage Vogue. I stamped the flowers and then used snips to cut out each flower. I attached them to the card with glue dots.  Simple pearls added in the centers finished off the cards.

I hope you try this fold.  It really did turn out pretty.

Apple Bread

I live in a very small town (pop. 500 or so) and at our local post office people who have an excess of veggies and fruit leave it in boxes inside the post office for others to enjoy.  The other day I got to feast on yellow squash and zuchinni and a day or two before that I had cucumbers to take home! Well, on Friday, someone had dropped off a large box full of apples.

I grabbed some thinking I would make an apple crisp over the weekend but I found this recipe on my friend, Debbie Fisher's blog and decided to try it!

Apple Bread

2 c. sugar
1 c. oil
2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. chopped apples
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix oil, sugar, & vanilla, add eggs one at a time mixing well after each. Sift dry ingredients. Add to oil/sugar/egg mixture. Fold in apples & nuts. Batter will be very thick.

Pour into 2 greased loaf pans.

Bake @ 325° for 60-75 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan for 15 minutes. Then remove from pan.

I mixed the ingredients up in my pretty red country bowl:

And it turned out yummy!!  I shared some of the bread at work, we ate some at home and the other loaf I froze to enjoy later.

I hope you try this recipe.

CASE Card

Good Monday to you all! I saw this card the other day and wanted to try to use it as inspiration.

by Chat Wszelaki from the blog:  Me,My Stamps and I

I love the colors and the stamp set...but I don't have either so I came up with two  cards in purple and pink.

And this one:

This second card had a slight mistake!  I was stamping the second flower and misjudged and did not stamp all of it on the cardstock ~ I had a blank spot between the two flowers ~ so I added a small butterfly to the middle and the mistake was covered up. That is one of the great things about stamping!

The inside was finish very simple.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day today!

Masculine Happy Birthday

I wanted to start using up some old DSP that I have been hanging on to and I whipped up a couple of Birthday cards that would be perfect for a man having a birthday.

Then I made another one with just a few changes:

Two cards that I made pretty fast. I have two boys and both were born in August.  Jeff of the 22nd and John on the 30th so they will be receiving these cards.

Hope you all have a great weekend and I will have more ideas next week.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday, Cupcake!

Aren't the colors of this card gorgeous???  I love the Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink ~ so girly and a pop of Basic Gray!!

I needed more birthday cards in my "stash" and made a couple of these. The inside looks like this.

I hope your week is going well.  Thanks for stopping by!

It's a Swap Card

I made a card for a swap that I signed up for using some new stamps, ink and papers.  I made 29 of these and will received 29 different swap cards in exchange!  Great thing, right?  I will share the swap cards with you when I receive them so you can have some crafting inspiration.

I wish I had taken a better picture of this because after I now look at it, the photo has shadows on it.  Oh well, you get the idea of the card.  The swap requirement was a card that you would be able to create in 10 minutes or less so it is pretty simple.

I do have more posts coming up in the next couple of days.  Thanks for taking the time to drop by!

Another Flower Card

Here is another card I made using the Quint Essential Flower Stamp.

And the same card but with a sentiment added.

I love these soft colors ~ Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Crumb Cake.  A little bling, bling with some rhinestones around the flower and some soft cut out edging in Whisper White completes the card.
The insides were decorated like this:

Thats all I have, for now, using this stamp but I have more cards to show you coming up in the days ahead...including those hard, masculine cards.  So stay tuned!

Flower Power!

I am back to show you another card using the Quint Essential Flower stamp from SU!

For this card, I did use some retired SU! DSP that I had purchase on the clearance rack.  I love the Melon Mambo, black, white and grey colors with a POP of Pear Pizzaz.

Thanks for stopping!

Quint Essential Flower Power

This past weekend, I was able to get into the craft room and make some cards!  It has been forever (well, at least a month) since I have been able to have some time to play.  I ended up making quite a few cards using the Quint Essential Flower stamp from SU!.  This stamp is sold by itself and comes as a wooden block stamp as your only choice.  It has so many possibilities!  I will be showing several cards using this versitile stamp over the course of several posts.

This first card I really like the pretty colors. I got this idea from the blog here ~ Stampin Anne.  I really like Anne Marie's style of cardmaking and have CASED many of her card ideas.

I used some of the new Stampin' Up! colors along with grey.  The new colors are Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals.

I added some rhinestones to the flower and punched out different parts of the stamped flower in the two colors.  I also added some tags to the card and attached them to the bow.

Stay tuned for more ideas using the Quint Essential Flower Stamp!!

Sweet Macyn!

Well this proud Grandma has to post some more pictures of Macyn!  She is growing "like a weed"!

I could not stay away any longer so grandma (and grandpapa) had to go visit last week and we got to babysit last Saturday afternoon and gave Mommy and Daddy a break.  They went out to eat and to a movie while Macyn and us bonded.  We watched the Olympics together!  Macyn is now 5 weeks old.

I saw a quote on Pinterest the other day ~ "Grandchildren fill a space in your heart you never knew was empty".  My heart is so full of love!
