Congratulations

There is a wedding this weekend that we have been invited to so I made a simple yet elegant card for the occasion.

I used a stamp from the Bliss set and the sentiment is from Well Scripted.  The bow is made from sheer black ribbon and a clear brad is in the center.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and a good Memorial Day on Monday.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday!

This beautiful card idea I happened upon on this blog and knew I had to CASE it!!  I think it is so pretty.  Of course, I am using my go to colors...crumb cake, baja breeze and the pretty awesome new green color in SU! color selection Pear Pizzazz!

This card is using the stamp set Vintage Vogue.  A beautiful stamp set.

The scallops on the bottom of the card are made by using the 1" circle punch and spacing them evenly apart. I added some texture using an embossing folder and a little seam binding ribbon tucked behind the top note cutout. I tried adding a bow to the front and decided to leave it off. I added some rhinestones for a little "bling".

I decorated the inside just a little bit:

I made several of these cards to send and just have on hand - I have already sent two!!  I just think they are so pretty, what do you think?

Have a good Thursday!

And the Winner is.......

Thanks EVERYONE who left comments, became followers and told others about my new blog!  All of your comments were so sweet and I appreciate each one of them :-)  Makes you feel good...like a pat on the back!

Like I explained on my blog candy post, I put your name in the hat (actually I used a basket) for a comment, I put your name in two more times if you told others about the candy and I put your name in three more times if you became a follower so some of you had your name in SIX times!!  **Sweet**

This was all of the names in the basket.  I asked my youngest son to pick one out of the basket.  He refused to have his picture taken - said he would not do it if I had the camera in my hand - so you have to TRUST me.  He was the one who picked the winner.

AND THE WINNER IS.................

Congratulations Bridget!!! You have 24 hours to contact me!  Leave me a comment here and I will get your goodies to you!  If I don't hear from Bridget - I will choose again.

Thanks again, everyone!!

Last Post of Card Swaps!

Well, the final post of cards from the card swap are next.  It has been so much fun!  I may get one more and when I do, I will post it.  Somehow, one got lost in the mail and we are getting that taken care of :)

The first two cards use the Strength & Hope stamp set (#118100 wood and 123660 clear stamp set)  I love this set and as I mentioned in the past SU! will donate $2.00 for every set sold to the Breast Cancer Research Foundtion.

The first card is from Patty Bennett.  Patty used the Two Tags Die, My Digital Studio, SU! pearls and the scallop punch.

I love the color combination!  Beautiful.

The next card using the Strength & Hope is from Jennifer Misner:

Jennifer used just a portion of one of the stamps to make the stem of the flower.  It says courage, hope, believe, unity, survivor.  Great idea!!  She also used dazzling diamonds to her butterfly and a small SU! rhinestone.  Love it!!

The last two cards used the new Paisley Petals DSP and the Four Frames new stamp set.  Both are awesome!!

This card was from Jan Statkiewicz.  She also used the tiny SU! pearls on her card.  I love this new DSP - so pretty.

The last card I have to share, doesn't have a name on the back so I don't know who sent it but it is a sympathy card and very beautiful.

Thank you for visiting my blog these past few days to see what great cards people have made using the new summer mini catalog items!!  It has been fun!

If you have any questions, or would like to order anything you have seen here and don't have a Stampin' UP! demonstrator, leave me a comment and I will try to get in touch with you.

Remember, I have Blog Candy on the post dated May 17th!!  Go to it and leave a comment for a chance to win or read the post for more ways to add your name to the hat more than once!!

Card Swaps #3

Here is card swap post #3!!  This set of cards are using some of the "floral" stamp sets.  First card is from Cindee Wilkinson!  Cindee used the stamp set Flower Fest (#122278 wood or #12280 Clear stamp set), the new embossing powders, and one of the Happy Greetings stamps!

This card is just so bright and cheerful!  Too cute!  Cindee tells how she made this card on her blog - go check it out!

The next card is from Sheryl Gruber.  Sheryl was the one who started the card exchange (Thank's Sheryl!)  Sheryl used the Flower Garden embossing folder (#123113), the new Postage Stamp punch (#122344) and the Pretty Postage stamp set (#123095 wood or 123097 clear stamp set)

Wow!  The way Sheryl used the embossing folder to make this card was amazing!  It is so pretty!

Next is Cindi Brandeis card.  She used the Fabulous Florets stamp set (#123025 wood or 123027 clear stamp set):

Cindi's card is so pretty in real life.  She went to alot of work!  She cut out EACH flower after embossing each one, put dimensionals behind each one and used the embossing folder on the Melon Mambo cardstock.  She also embellished the flowers with SU! pearls.  Beautiful, Cindi!!

The next card was made by Dechelle Rasheed:

Dechelle used the set Fabulous Florets also.  She also used SU! tiny clear buttons and Twill ribbon.

Isn't this F-U-N looking at so many fun cards? Guess what??  I have more tomorrow to post!!!

Remember - I have BLOG CANDY on the post dated May 17th!!  Go there to enter!!!

More Cards from Swap!

Here is post #2 from the card swap using items from the **New** Summer Mini Catalog from Stampin' UP!

This first card is from Gloria Plunkett. Gloria used the set The Open Sea (#123032 clear stamp set or 123030 wood stamp set) and the DSP (Design Series Paper) that goes perfect with this set Nautical Expedition (#122343)  I love this stamp set and paper!

This card is so neat, Gloria!!

The next card is using the same set and paper and it is from Nancy Jacoby:

I love this idea that Nancy used!  She made it look like a old Captain's Ledger on the front using velum paper and a stamp from the set:

Isn't that fun?  She also used the new Baker's Twine (#123124) which is Early Espresso but also comes in white and cherry cobbler.

Another masculine stamp is the Sail Away stamp (#123013) It is just one stamp and great if you are on a budget.  This would be wonderful for a Birthday, Father's Day, Retirement, Congrats - anytime you need a more manly card:

Sadly, whomever made this card for the swap...did not sign the back :(  They did an awesome job and if you made it, please comment so we know who did it.

***Edit: Vinnie Cespedes emailed me that she was the one who made this GREAT card!  Thanks Vinnie for letting us know!!***

Thanks for stopping by!  I will have more posts showing some more of the swaps coming soon!

SU! Card Swap

As promised I am going to be posting the cards I received from and recent card swap using the Summer Mini Catalog that Stampin' UP! has available from May 1st through August 31st.

The first card was the one that I made using the Happy Greetings Stamp set.  This set has six different greetings.

Once again, there I am using Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze and Vanilla!!  I just love the color combination - what can I say!!  The original idea for this card was from addinktivedesigns.blogspot.com but I changed it around a bit!

The next card was created by Lynn Reloza:

Lynn also used a stamp from the Happy Greetings and she also used a stamp from the On the Grow set (the flowers)  Lynn colored the flowers and the jar and added little SU! pearls to the insides of the flowers - super cute!!

Next card was nameless - sorry:

They used the new stamp from the set Proud Peacock and very faintly you can see "HELLO  HELLO  HELLO" in the bottom left corner and this is yet ANOTHER stamp from the Happy Greetings set.  See how versatile this set is???

I posted that I have BLOG CANDY on the May 17th post.  Go there to see how you can enter to win some fun items!!!
I will post more cards tomorrow!!  Stop back and check them out!

BLOG CANDY......COMING SOON!!

I just looked at my blog counter and I noticed that I have 500 hits!!!  So watch out this week for some BLOG CANDY!!!

THANKS - Gail

Strength & Hope

I am really getting alot of use out of the brand new Strength & Hope set from Stampin' UP!  Available only from May 1 - August 31st it is a beautiful set.

Here are a couple of cards I made using this set along with my Big Shot's Top  Note die (and a few extras here and there!!)

We are having overcast, dreary weather here (some even spotted some snowflakes out Saturday morning!) so I took the next pictures indoors of this card.  Our weather has been really unusual - cooler than normal but we aren't getting anything like those east of us.

I love using the crumb cake cardstock with the marina mist.  Added a few pearls to soften it a bit.

The next card I used about the same idea but changed it up a bit!

I felt there wasn't enough room on the front of the card to add a sentiment so I will add it to the inside but I did add something extra on this card ... can you guess?

Yep!  I added Dazzling Diamonds to the butterflies!  They really sparkle in real life ;-)

Hope your weekend was good and this week goes well.  Hopefully, I will be able to craft some more this week and get some posted.  When the weather starts to warm, I do like to spend as much time as I can outside in my yard.  Love to landscape and dig in the dirt!!

Til next time -

Gail

Thanks for stopping by and please tell others about my blog.  Just getting started is hard getting the word out!

A CARD FOR PATTY!

Patty Bennett is my upline from Stampin' Up!  She is the one who encourages me, inspire's me and just is a wonderful friend I met online :)  She has a great blog (click on her name above and that will take you right to it)

I wanted to send Patty a card because she is always sending me special cards (especially using the My Digital Studio program that SU! has for computers.  I went upstairs to my craft room after feeding "my boys" and made this card using a few of the new stamps just recently available.

The sentiment is from the new Happy Greetings stamp set and the butterfly is from the new Strength and Hope set.  For every Strength and Hope set sold, $2.00 will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Way to go Stampin' Up!

If you look closely, you can see a touch of dazzling diamonds I applied to the wings of the butterfly:

I decided to sew around parts of the cardstock and I embossed the real read cardstock to add a little texture.  I love the SU! antique brads!  I attached one of them to the ribbon.  You get a whole assortment of different sizes and designs in a container.

Even though today is Friday the 13th - I hope you are having a good week - Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Card

I made this card for my Mom.  It is simple but sincere!

I love SU! Melon Mambo color!  I use it ALOT!  Green is my favorite color so you would think I would be always reaching for that color but this has been my favorite go to color ever since Melon Mambo was introduced.  It is beautiful!!

I kept the inside of the card very simple and I will write a little personal message inside.

My "boys" are planting corn today so I am going to just kick back today and enjoy it!  Right now, I am having fun watching "Yard Crashers" on HGTV (love that show - I wish Ahmed would find me but the closest Lowes is 4 hours away!)

Enjoy your day - I know I am!

Gail

Happy Mother's Day!!

To all of the Mother's out there - Happy Mother's Day!!
May your day be special - ENJOY IT!!  This is a picture of my Mom's high school graduation photo!

Mom and Dad don't live too far from us so I get to see them almost every day.  I am lucky :)  Hope your day is wonderful!
